Discovery Institute fellow on the new atheism

Can disbelief in God be considered "religious"? Sure. Just ask Zen Buddhists, who worship no deity. By religion, I mean any faith-based set of values that makes exclusive claims for its truth and explains the mysteries of the universe. Yes, atheism begins with a faith, namely that only material and physical (not spiritual) causes make the world run.

I never cease to be amazed at the repetition of the same discredited arguments by theists. David Klinghoffer, a hack from the Discovery Institute is in fine form here as he uses the idea that atheism is a 'faith' to discredit it in favor of his own faith. Nice switcheroo, but accomplishing nothing other than to show that even he agrees faith is meaningless. Klinghoffer's position is classic and all too common. We are left, then with two dueling faith-positions, and nothing but assertion or scripture to support either one. How about the facts, David?
