Bad public behavior gives atheists a bad name

Everyone in line was looking at each other and becoming increasingly uncomfortable. The agent finally told him that the fog was “an act of God.” He then turned to all of us in line and screamed, “I don’t believe in God.” I’m not religious at all. But I believe in karma and humor, so I figured I had to do something to defuse the situation. So I said loud enough for everyone in line to hear, “Dude, you may not believe in God, but you better start believing in the weather.” The next thing I know people are applauding and slapping me on the back. So I thought all that good will would result in something good happening to me. And it did.

Public displays of rudeness in the name of “no god” are the last thing we need. The writer of this story is a friend of mine, and by his own words has no use for religion.
