Prisoners riot to protest move away from families

Inmates at the New Castle Correctional Facility took over part of the prison this afternoon, injuring two employees and setting fire to mattresses before order was restored within about two hours.

Prisoners are not animals. They were forcibly transferred from Arizona and brought to Indiana where they are unlikely to be able to see their families. In a grossly unfair move, the least violent and best behaved prisoners were selected for this treatment. With a population of 2 million and growing, the American penal system is seriously in need of reform.
