Father Strangles 16-Year-Old Daughter for not Wearing Hijab

A 16-year-old girl is in critical condition after being choked by a man believed to be her father, apparently after a dispute with her family over her refusal to wear the hijab, the Islamic headscarf worn by some Muslim women.

Peel Regional Police arrested a 57-year-old man yesterday morning after receiving a 911 call from a suburban home in Mississauga from a man saying he had killed his daughter. When police and paramedics arrived at the house they found a 16-year-old lying on the floor without any vital signs, police said.

Constable J.P. Valade, a spokesman for Peel police, would not release the names of either the victim or the man arrested and would not give any details about what transpired inside the large, two-storey home in a well-to-do subdivision.

“We are not getting into the details of her injuries at this time,” he said. “We aren’t getting into any details about this case. This investigation is really in its infancy: officers are still canvassing the neighbourhood and talking to family members.”

However, early police reports indicated the teenager had been choked and that the attacker was her father.

[The story was updated, and the girl has now died.]

Proving once again that afterlife belief and belief in a spirit world infects the real world in multiple and pernicious ways. How powerful a destructive force that can so distort the natural bond between a father and daughter. So powerful it even overrules his genetic imperative to protect and nurture his offspring. But that’s well established. For a religion that condones and justifies murderous suicide bombing, a father strangling one girl is child’s play. Life is ever-so-cheap in the Kingdom of Allah.

It’s a sad statement of things when my response must truly be, “Wow, I didn’t know Canada used ‘911′ as their numbers as well!” Because that’s the most surprising part of the story. :)

And oh — I admire your subjectivism! Life is indeed cheap in the kingdom of allah. It seems to be cheapest of all kingdoms for life! :)

That is so unfair to lump all belief in the afterlife to be “pernicious” and it is so wrong on all fronts to group Christianity with Islam.

I agree that it is sad and wrong that any religion could play a part in breaking a bond between father and daughter in such a heinous way but many worldly non-religious problems can produce the same results such as addiction to alcohol, gambling, drugs, sex abuse etc….
I guess with religion gone it will be the lesser of “many” evils.

Roger,

That is so unfair to lump all belief in the afterlife to be “pernicious” and it is so wrong on all fronts to group Christianity with Islam.

Islam is just more true to its fundamental scriptures than Christianity, which in some moderate forms practiced today actually approaches humanism. Why not just drop all the fantasies and embrace humanism? It would prevent all such nonsense.

addiction to alcohol, gambling, drugs, sex abuse etc….

Every one of those problems involves personal individual, choice and has nothing to do with metaphysical beliefs or lack thereof. Killing a daughter over wearing the hijab (Islam), or killing a doctor over performing abortions (Christianity) all have to do with scripture and afterlife. This is what I’m referring to: Religion Inspired Murder.

Religion is in a class by itself in this regard.

Obviously, this family is not fit to live in a free society.  Deport the lot of them.

[...] Oh, OK. I guess if it was just raging hormones, and the girl trying to assert her independence, it was OK for her father to strangle her (previous article). What the fuck is wrong with these people? It was reported that she told friends she was afraid of her father, that she thought her father would eventually kill her. [...]
