TM Founder Dead

Fraudster Maharishi Mahesh, who proposed solving conflict through “shock-troops” of meditators, had mocked humanistic attempts at peacemaking:

“To resolve problems through negotiation is a very childish approach,” he said.

I would write his epitaph: “He added nothing to the world except the perpetuation of confusion, and the privileging of wishful thinking and torpor over concrete action.”

I read your short note about Maharishi Mahesh Yogi passing. Maybe you were unaware that at least 5 million people learned Transcendental Meditation because of him or that his influence was noted at his passing, by thousands for 3 days coming to India from around the world to pay their respects. Or maybe you are not aware that there have been over 500 peer reviewed published articles on the positive effects of TM, done at the best universities around the globe.

The mark he left on this world will long be remembered and I am thankful for all the love he gave to it.

If 5 million people meditating isn’t having any effect on the level of conflict in the world, how many could it possibly take?

Or maybe you are not aware that there have been over 500 peer reviewed published articles on the positive effects of TM, done at the best universities around the globe.

Or maybe that is completely fabricated claim!

they conclude that the probability of the theory “is very close to zero” and “…The claim that MT [Master Thesis] provides the only plausible explanation of these data cannot be sustained. There are alternative explanations that do not depend on esoteric or paranormal influences.”

Before you quote propaganda from a TM website, you might want to actually verify it independent of that source first.

Because Transcendental Meditation looks to do more harm than good.

Ding Dong, the con man is dead. HURRAH!

At the risk of sounding like I am in the ‘Cult of Heather’…

Well put! ;)

Heather and Louis,

Thanks for the links and insightful comments. Contrary to some deluded people’s bullshit tu quoque accusations, agreeing on something which is backed up by evidence does not a cult make! ;-)

This group was the first stepping stone I was involved with before I had a calling to seek the truth. I was meditating for almost a year and my seed syllable was " I ma" during meditation. Very much anger started to activate my subconscious.
