Americans Negative on State of Nation’s Moral Values
More than 8 in 10 Americans think morality is getting worse, representing a slight increase in the past three years. The groups of Americans who are most negative about moral values in this country include senior citizens, blacks, women, conservative Republicans, Protestants, and weekly churchgoers.
If 80% of people think moral values are declining, they must be talking about themselves! It’s clear what this poll is describing is more of a sense of bewilderment and loss of control. Maybe if people understood more about innate motivations, competition, and the laws of power, they wouldn’t feel so helpless and disenfranchised. After all, if these 80% want to change 80% of the moral values, all they have to do is change themselves.
